CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a class of fatty acids produced by animals that is naturally present in beef and dairy products. Although CLA plays an important role in a number of cellular metabolic processes, humans are not able to produce CLA and therefore can obtain it only from food. Since CLA is generally higher in pasture‑raised animals, changes in agricultural practices have led to a decrease in CLA in our foods, reducing its availability in modern diets. Therefore, to achieve the desired levels of CLA for optimal effect, it is recommended to use CLA supplements. NOW® CLA is derived from non‑GMO safflower oil and contains 800 mg of CLA per capsule.
