Cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and others) are characterized by a high content of a sulfur-containing compound called indole-3-carbinol (I3C). In the acidic environment of the stomach, I3C is easily converted into DIM (diindolylmethane) and a full spectrum of additional compounds that neutralize free radicals and support the elimination of toxins.
