Inositol is a secondary member of the B-complex vitamin family found in both animal and plant food sources. The form of inositol used in this product, myo-inositol, is the most common form of this nutrient. Inositol is found in all cell membranes, with the highest concentrations in the brain and central nervous system, where it plays an important role in neurotransmitter signal transduction. Inositol is also critical for proper insulin function, lipid metabolism, and for maintaining calcium balance at the cellular level.
