Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are fats that occur naturally in coconut and palm kernel oil, but NOW® Sports Organic MCT Oil is derived exclusively from organic coconut oil. MCTs are more easily and rapidly digested than other types of fats. They are easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and are very quickly metabolized in the liver, where they are reported to encourage the use of fat for energy rather than for storage. Numerous studies suggest that replacing other fats in a healthy diet with MCT oil may help support a healthy weight and body composition.

Typical C8 and C10 composition:

50–80% caprylic acid (C8)
20–50% capric acid (C10)
NOW® Organic MCT Oil is derived from organic coconut oil obtained in an environmentally friendly way to protect our planet and preserve local wildlife habitats.

Suggested use
Take 1 tablespoon (15 ml) daily. MCT oil can also be used as a substitute for conventional oils in salad dressings, sauces, or cooking. Not recommended for frying due to its low smoke point.
