Product information. Methylfolate from KAL contains (6S)-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Folic acid is intended to provide nutritional support for normal healthy DNA synthesis, homocysteine metabolism, and cardiovascular function. A woman who follows a healthy diet and has an adequate amount of folate in her body may reduce the risk of giving birth to a baby with a birth defect of the brain or spinal cord. For pregnant women, folate intake should not exceed 250% of the daily value (1000 mcg).
