SAMe 200 from Jarrow Formulas® provides a full yield of 200 mg SAMe (net yield) from 400 mg SAMe tosilate disulfate. SAMe 200 is manufactured at low temperature and low humidity and has an enteric coating that ensures a biologically active product.

Contains more of the biologically active S,S form than R,S

SAMe, which is present in all living cells, is a metabolite of methionine (an essential amino acid). SAMe is a chiral molecule consisting of two forms: (S,S)SAMe and (R,S)SAMe. The biologically active form has the (S,S) structure, whereas the (R,S) structure is biologically inactive. SAMe from Jarrow Formulas® is produced by microbiological fermentation and processed without the use of chemical solvents to preserve 68–80% (S,S) SAMe.

Brain metabolism and mood

SAMe methylation reactions are involved in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, which is an essential component of gray matter in the brain and of cell membranes. In addition, it is believed to be involved in the formation or metabolism of neurotransmitters, helping to maintain a balanced mood.

Joint health

SAMe supports the production of healthy connective tissue through transsulfuration. In this transsulfuration process, critical components of connective tissue known as glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), including glucosamine and chondroitin, are sulfated by SAMe metabolites to form sulfated GAGs such as glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, the building blocks of cartilage.

Liver function

SAMe supports the synthesis of glutathione (GSH), which is critical for antioxidant protection and liver function, including phase II detoxification.

EnteroGuard® is a patented, cellulose-based, pH-sensitive enteric food coating that resists stomach acid and breaks down at the less acidic pH in the upper intestine, where SAMe becomes available for absorption.

Directions
Adults take 1 tablet 1–2 times per day on an empty stomach or as directed by a qualified healthcare professional.
